Rob's suggestion is a good one. About once a year I remove the covers and
cases of my equipment and inspect it for anything amiss. I also take the
time to clean things off so you don't build dust bunnies that can cause
arcs.
As to your problem, you may have a tube gone bad. First be sure all your
switches are set correctly then if it still has the problem try changing the
tubes one at a time to see if you have one that is weak. I had the same
problem with a Globe King 500 one time and the rectifier tube for the
modulator section went soft. If tube replacement is not the answer then
you can do some voltage measurements,
