Seems to me that one of the many options in HRD is choosing which 
language you want.

*If* that's all they did, was work on the British English language, then 
I agree that no, you don't need it.

Many is the time that they'll 'tweek' something else in the software 
that might not make it to the change-log, but does enhance(hinder?) 
performance.

Personally, I always go with the latest.

Sounds like they're not going to put up any more versions of HRD for the 
public so, get all that's available.

They don't make a version for Linux, so I'm not affected either way. 
Your mileage may vary.  Buyer beware.
