[AMRadio] NC240 D or C?

Jim,

The original dial did have barely detectable red lettering and scaling for
bandspread. The red ink had faded to oblivion. So much so that I could
not duplicate the scaling when I re-created the new dial via computer. I
requested in several places for someone to please send me a good photo of
one with good red lettering until I finally gave up and put the new dial in
without the bs scale. This rig DOES have the bandspread positions, but no
indication of where you are.

I put a request for that photo on the National list, amfone, and a few
other places and was surprised either no one had one, or just didn't bother
to help out...

This is a "first production" run on the D model with the 195 prefix. It
even has some parts, like a can or two that have 240C on them! I have been
told the early 'Ds' are scarce, and were black, unlike the later versions.
It puzzled me when I first bought this one due to the fact the old black
wrinkle appeared original and professionally done. I was then educated a
bit on the production variations of the 'D' model.

By the way, thanks to all for the nice comments on the rig, both on and off
the list. And yes, it does work and sound as good as it looks!
