I followed the same path, Rick, just a few years later. I was born in
the late 50's and Dad had his original call before WWII broke out.
I was raised around radio all my life and I remember hearing the term
'Elmer' for as long as I can remember. I also have been witness to a
term that no one seems to use anymore... "LID".
