I'd prefer to call it a discussion or discourse.

Being a crusty old retired Sr. NCO, by definition - I am not Politically 
Correct.  If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a 
duck - it is a duck.

I do not call it a spotted migratory waterfowl.

It becomes a matter of how you say it is a duck.  It doesn't take 
profanity nor very heated discourse to call it a duck.

It simply is what it is.  One topic that irritates folks are the 
Canadian Geese that no longer migrate.  That can start some real hot 
conversation.  They leave a very unsanitary reminder of their presence.
