[AMRadio] Ferrite slugs for SX-28A

I just had a thought. Yes, it happens from time to time, but bear with me...

Some years ago, my Dad (W5JHJ, SK) gave me a sizeable collection of
surplus slug-tuned coils and transformers (several 1 gal bags) with
all sizes and shapes of slugs. I have no good idea why he had them or
where ho got them. I can only guess that, because he used to service
CB and other gear, he'd use these if he found a broken slug (common
in CB gear). None are BA vintage as most are intended for PC board
mounting. Even so, is there a chance that any of those might do?

Also, I'll bet that these slugs are not all ferrite: I'm pretty sure
that a lot of them are powdered iron of some type.
