I've told this story to so many groups over the years that I risk re-telling 
it, but I actually took my General Class code exam with a typewriter 
"because of" the crabby chief engineer at Dallas, hi.  He wrote me a letter 
GIVING me permission to use it, in case one of the ones who traveled to 
Oklahoma City wouldn't accept my word for it!!!  The funniest part of the 
whole story is getting a typewriter OUT of the Federal Building after the 
test!!!!!!!!!!
