Hi Bob,

I wanted to come to you direct to tell you that lately we have had some 
complaints about some of your answers to posts on the reflector.  In a 
few instances the tone of your messages were borderline tense.  To me 
you didn't completely cross the line but to others the anweres were 
*OVER*..

To be direct with you has been best in the past so I want to notify you 
directly because I know you are not intentionally aggravating people.  I 
also know that you want to share your considerable experience, however 
some of the messages you post are being interperted as condesending.

I hope you will, as you have in the past, give thought to how you say 
things.  Remember that others are not direct like I can be so they are 
either intimidated from posting or they just delete the topic rather 
than read them.  In a few instances some guys have actually 
unsubscribed.

I would like to request you make every attempt to be more gentle with 
your posts and do not emphasize words and phrases as you have lately. 
Those all capital words come across as shouting, especially when you put 
the * in front and back of the words.

The written word depends on personal relationships with others to be 
interperted as they are meant.  In this case most of the people do not 
know you as well as I do so they are prone to misunderstand your 
purpose.  So I want to ask you to be careful with your tone and 
emphasis.   I know you don't wish to harm other feelings or offend so 
please try to be sure of how your posts sound to others before posting.
