Kim,
My TS-930SAT developed two issues.
One, the Ant Tuner section needed some lubrication AND a tightening of
the coupling on the left motor.
Two, the Power Supply fan would NOT turn on. I removed the "El Cheapo"
Matshusta fan, jumpered the thermal switch to be constantly on. I
replaced the "El Cheapo" fan with a ball bearing CPU fan. It draws
significantly less current at the 12VDC.
Now it is completely functional. Yes, some "epithets" were uttered
while working on the Power Supply Board. There really isn't much in the
line of room to work in.

It's no ricebox, but it also has to go back to the mother ship for anything significant. And it's an astounding piece of technology with a receiver that's amazing despite its imperfections.

Heck, we're all using computers that precious few of us can fix at the component level! Yet, computers are important gadgets that we need to help us collectively keep our BA gear heating our shacks.
