Years ago, when the meter went bad in my T4XC, I was lucky to get one of the last meters Drake had. While poking around the Fair Radio site, I took a chance on a meter that had very close dimensions to the original, clear plastic front, had a blank meter scale, and a 50ua movement. I figure I can put an appropriate shunt on it if I need to use it. It has 4 fixed mounting screws that would have to be clipped, the back housing is a bit deeper than the Drake meter, and might take a bit of corner trimming to clear the can just to the right of the meter. But for $6.77 it was worth putting it in the spares box. It's PN is UA 50. Anybody that has a Drake T4 series xmtr needing a meter might look at this.
I also took a chance on a 100K pot that had 'unknown wattage' in the description. I bought it for my Eico 950B cap analyzer, which requires a 100K 4 watt pot for the leakage test. The Fair Radio pot had dimensions that were a bit bigger than the 4 watter in the unit. It turned out to be a 4 or 5 watt pot which works just fine, and was only $3. Telling you this because a 100K 4 watt pot from the parts houses runs in excess of $30.
