It depends. If you are in a fast break-in QSO what you said is true. But
unless it is specifically understood by everyone in a QSO that fast break-in
is being used, it is best to say 'over', 'go ahead' or give one's callsign
at the end of a transmission instead of just abruptly dropping the carrier.
I can't recall the number of times I have been in a one-on-one QSO and the
other station would make a rather lengthy transmission then suddenly
disappear without warning. I wasn't sure if he turned it back to me, had
rig failure or if propagation had abruptly changed.
