[AMRadio] Ranger w/D104 Mic

Hi all,
I have been trying to get my Ranger on the air for quite some time to get on the AM mode. 
I cant seem to get my D 104 microphone to work. I am trying to keep it simple and just 
use the 2 wires for the 2 pin plug on the back of the radio. I have a green wire which I have 
to ground and the yellow wire which I am assuming is the hot side of the mic. I put the radio
into "phone" and talk into the mic but meters dont move, it doesnt appear to be putting out 
audio. I adjust the "audio" control and that doesnt seem to be doing anything either. 
Am I missing something here? Do I need to hook the amplifier circuit back up in the mic in 
order for it to drive the rig?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. CW seems to be
fine.
