Hi Ed --
It's not a question of not wanting to change it, it's that's we've tried
and have so far been unable to do so.
But, remember the original premise of this thread was not the need to
alleviate overcrowding on 10M AM; it was that antennas not cut for 29.0
have a hard time being used on 29.0 -- and that was pretty much shown to be
a non-issue.
No evidence has been presented that overcrowding exists between 29.0 and
29.2, so the spread out "solution" is a solution in search of a problem.
With several people indicating they work AM amongst SSB activity lower in
the band with no problem is yet another indication that parallels between
75M and 10M are not valid.
