This was before I became a Ham, but it was an ARRL thing they cooked up. I had an Extra at the time tell me not to get my Ham ticket since it was about to become another CB Radio, so it was another 2 Years before I became I too my Tech and General at the same time and got my ticket. He seemed disappointed that I got my ticket… What a jerk. He is no longer a Ham.
