You still have to take the ENTIRE Extra exam, BUT - you have to prove
that you took Element 3 PRIOR to 1987.
Since I did NOT keep my very first license - ORIGINAL - ,, NOR have an
ENTIRE Callbook showing me in it, since I got licensed in 1980, I had to
get a letter from the FCC CERTIFYING that I indeed have the Element 3.
It has become a new requirement, apparently.
