Whoa! That added criterion -- "1 KHz read-out" -- narrows the field a bit.
I think you'd be happiest with a 75A-2. Solid Collins mechanical design
(including the 1 KC dial graduations) excellent stability and wonderful for
AM and CW. It can be had for considerably less than the 75A-3 or 75A-4,
neither of which sound as nice on AM even with their 6KC mechanical filters
(IMHO).
