My experience on AM goes back to when I first got licensed in 1980.

I began with an HT-37/SX-101A and a Shure 737A.

I kept that station until the mid 80s when I donated it to a school.

I've went to a "Ricebox" fed into an LK-500ZB. That was followed by a
DX-60/HG-10 fed into the very same Amp.

This went to an HT-32A/SX-101MKIII, also fed by my second Shure 737A.

Now I've also gone to a BC-610 and a T-213. The receiver has been
either an R-390A or an SP-600.

The vast majority has been operating with folks that hold discussions of
the technical aspects of AM and how to achieve a good signal.

I've managed to stay away from those that are the definition of
uncouth. I do NOT intend to move from that philosophy.

My $0.02.
