Hi Dave,

Unfortunately that very lack of the social graces is why I wouldn't ever let a "civilian" listen-in on any AM QSOs that I made years ago, when I was quite active with the mode...

In as much as I might personally like the specific operator at the other end of the contact (and I really do, too, believe me!), no amount of technical savvy could ever "compensate" for such a very public display of crude & vulgar behaviour, in my opinion---it's a poor introduction to AM for newbies who might be interested in getting involved.

Just because you or I might tolerate it, many others "...not in the know" would not...no surprise there, I guess.
