[AMRadio] Extra Class downgraded to advanced

Nobody asked my opinion but I think I will throw it out here anyway.

In my limited experience (only a ham since the early 90's), AM operators are more electronic savvy than the majority of Amateurs.
People... just get your EXTRA class license and be done with it. Stop the whining about no-code, code, incentive, the way it was, blah blah blah...

It's almost 2012 and the Extra class is not difficult to get. I know this might be part of many of the arguments, the PRIDE thing about how hard the Advanced test was and all that stuff.... get over it, get the Extra and ENJOY THE HOBBY with full priveledges. Seems like a no-brainer to me. I have NOT FOUND THAT BEING A CW PERSON DOES NOT MAKE YOU ANY BETTER OF AN OPERATOR. COMING FROM Citizen BAND does NOT MAKE YOU A BAD OPERATOR either. I have worked many ex-CBers that have a LOT MORE CLASS and better operating technique than some old curmudgeons constantly complaining about the downfall of Amateur Radio due to elimination of the code requirement.

Our community will not go backwards to tests with the requirements similar to the past. That's finished and we are where we are. Let's ENJOY and be EXAMPLES on the air and on these forums for others.

 LONG LIVE AMPLITUDE MODULATION!

73 from my favorite no-code Extra (me!) , KX5JT John
