NEW Coaxial relays can be purchased from RF Parts. The are latest technology of Japanese manufacture, I think.
I agree with Rodger, WQ9E's post. External contacts on Dow Key relays can "get your attention" and relieve any deep dark depression you may have. After being shocked by the total VDC of the receiver muting method, you will be so happy to be alive, that you forget about what has been depressing you, that is IF you live!!!
I have built several of the cube type relay change overs with 12 volt coils and 10 AMP contacts. They are enclosed and when mounted on a plastic box your anxiety diminishes and you have more fun. They are also quiet, low voltage and dependable. Also less likely to have the contacts bent or damaged.
I haven't built one for HIGH POWER because I haven't computed the RF ANPS the contacts must handle. I doubt that I will buy another Dow Key type relay. I will probably just build them to match power levels. 73, John, K5PGW (Old Geezer Radio)
