[AMRadio] Ebs Test failure

Its a lost art, like radios with tubes.
10 years ago it was very hard to get one that worked right, the FAA used
them for remote voice to radios, and we put a monitor tone on it, and
notched it out.
The circuits had to be verified working so we put a 3250 tone on them, and
had to run all the analog tests, including a freq sweep every 100Hz, and it
had to be flat +.5 db -1.5 db from 304 to 3404.
Very tricky over miles of copper.
They had units that did auto eq, but they made most lines go way hot above
2800 Hz and could not be used.
There were only a few guys around then (10 years ago) that understood how to
do it.
And that is well short of 15 KHz.
It would make a lot more sense to go digital, and some people used a
switched 56 kb line with an encoder for remote voice.
Now, you just get a dsl line and put whatever you want on it I suppose.
