[AMRadio] Rusty chassis

The only thing I've ever used -- not on electronic gear -- was "Naval Jelly," an 
aqueous gel that contains phosphoric acid. It is painted on and then rinsed off. 
My guess is that such stuff would do Bad Things, especially to copper and 
possibly zinc and tin. Here's a link to something that at least looks

I'm looking for advice on using one of the commercially available chemicals
to remove the rust from a steel chassis. It's not practical to remove all
the components, so, I want to use a paint on type chemical to loosen or
remove the rust. I have Googled several of the commercial solutions that
claim to do the job, but I have no experience with their use. Any and all
advice will be greatly appreciated.
