You mean, where can you find old Broadcast Transmitters that can be
converted to the ham bands?
Someone recommended the mailing list at broadcast.net. Barry Mishkind
(in Houston) is a great guy and his site is a good resource.
*Some* professional engineers might raise an eyebrow to a request of
"does anyone have an old tube-burning, 1kW AM back-up transmitter they
wanna get rid of?" then again, if the station had sense, it would have
already been sold for commercial dollars to some other-country station
for broadcast, legal or not.
I had my chance at the old KONO RCA BTA1R but life got busy, I had no
place to put it, and when I called on it, it was (of course) already
gone. If you -do- find one, act FAST on it!
