What's the use of the new receptacle? Dedicated for an amp?

Use the bare ground wire for ground throughout the pull to the new
receptacle's ground terminal. If neutral won't be used to power a
240/120VAC, then receptacle and plug can be wired for 240VAC only, using L1,
L2, and G, abandoning the use of the white neutral. The ground and neutral
bars at the sub-panel are not connected together.

If this is a 240VAC receptacle only, the white neutral isn't required. But
why not also pull a neutral all the way to the receptacle (3-pole, 4-wire
type) and have it available for older commercial amps like Alpha 70/77
series, Henry, etc.? Some older commercial and homebrewed amps use a 120V
blower, requiring a neutral. It's a lot easier doing it once than having to
re-visit it again in the future.
