I use a Heathkit SB-200 with about 15 watts of carrier to get out 100
plus watts of carrier. How long have you been running your SB-200 at
200 watts of carrier James? Just curious, I think that might be
pushing things a bit but maybe I'm wrong. I know it's a 600 watt pep
amp but how does the envelop look on the scope at 200 watts of carrier?
I know on mine if I try to get full snot 600 watts pep she'll start
flat topping some, but she looks real pretty at about 400 watts pep AM
(100 watts carrier)

Hiroki,
How are you running your ARC-5? I have three Command Set transmitters
on the
air, on 160, 80, and 40 meters, and I'm getting 30 to 40 watts out of
each of
them, on CW. Are you running yours on AM?
I have a Heath SB-200 that I use as an amplifier for several, low-power
AM
transmitters. It has a power gain of about 8, so if I put a 25 watt
carrier
into it I get about 200 watts of carrier out. It works well with a
Harvey-Wells
TBS-50 and with a National NTX/NSM pair.
