I know a number of hams like that and for some reason I'm not sure of,
I kind of admire those guys.
Maybe it is because they seem to do quite well in the hobby and life
thank you very much, without the internet.
When my CPU board died last summer I considered just not having a
computer at home.  The tipping point toward getting it repaired was
over getting parts.  I decided I needed the internet at home to get
parts (except that most of my best finds have been at hamfests and by
word of mouth).
