Well guys I finally found some time to get some. Antenna's up in the air this weekend
A 160 dipole 124 feet per side, and an 80 meter dipole.
For those unaware I had a house fire in 2007 lost just about everything.
Finally got my kenwood ts520s working.
And I got the R-390a running. I think the sensitivity is down but I am receiving stations.
I think I need to send the R390a out to be rebuilt and calibrated. It was totally dead after the fire.
And when I started cleaning it up a few weeks ago .
The Viking Valiant I opened up today. It was full of dirt from the fire.
It needs some work if I am to be on for the Heavy Metal Rally.
The insurance company electronics specialists said there was nothing wrong with it. LOL.
First the nuturalization cap needs to be replaced.
I need 2-866 tubes both caps broke off the tops.
Under the chassis. There are a few barrier strips broken . And 2 what looks like 2- Mylar caps totally toasted off the band switch in series with other caps to ground.
I have a funny feeling these clowns. Powered up the transmitter without a dummy load. Ad it arc'ed over burning up the caps. I have no idea what the value of these 2 caps are.

I have not started to rebuild the RCA BTA 1r1 or the gates BC1-H
  Happy holidays
