I find the HQ 110 A is okay and yes it takes about 30 minutes for it to warm up. My Ranger takes about the same time.  Guess I am always looking to improve the station.

I agree with Kim.  Currently have both a 110A and 170.  The 110A makes a fine 
backup.  Both need warm-up time more than the Collins or my homebrew unit, but 
even the 110A is stable after half an hour or so.  Biggies for the 170 are the 
multiple IF bandwidths, sideband selection capability, and the notch filter.
