[AMRadio] coax lead in

Thanks, Geoff. My driveway is gravel (soon to be concrete, I hope) so I can
just dig a trench deep and wide enough to accommodate the size of PVC I use.
I will use at least 2” pipe and maybe 3” to be sure all future needs are
met. I sure appreciate the tips. I think I’ve seen those weather proofing
grommets you wrote about and that sounds like the best route. I’ll use
whatever angles it takes to get the openings flat against the ground so I
won’t have to bend the coax any more than necessary and to help keep out the
rain. The shop vac is a good idea to clean out any debris or moisture.

Bob, thanks again for the suggestions and ideas. Sometimes my old brain
doesn’t fire as it should and all help is certainly appreciated.

Thanks to all

Rick/K5IAR

Rick, probably the best way to dig a hole under a driveway might be to
attach a high pressure nozzle to a long piece of PVC and "dig" a hole using
hydraulic pressure.

You might want to put some sort of 'curve' in the PVC so you can go in at an
angle and come up on the other side
.

Just some other options tossed out there.  I don't agree with the sealant
on the ends, but some weather-proofing grommets could be used so that you
could pull another cable through (like rotor control cable, remote coax
switch, etc...)

Perhaps this might stimulate other ideas.
