No, no one BUT me started the "heresy" aspect!
All of us know and realize the over utilized transformer.
I was "providing" possible solutions to the "6 pounds of scheiβen in a 5
pound
bag".
This is where *I* proposed the "heretic" solutions, I.E.,

It ends up being "heresy" to the "purists". It is in reality, a "real world" solution to the problem(s) inherent in this original manufactured *fine* Gem of a radio!
Therefore, I labeled THAT segment as "Heresy"!
I'm inclined to think outside the box. How else would I run a BC-610 on today's 127VAC supplied power - when it was built and designed for 110VAC?
I have a HUGE Superior Mfg. Variac. It will easily handle 40 to 50A. It can either be wired to take the 240VAC or it can be wired for the available 127VAC and get it down to 110VAC.
It is a matter of using that thing called "common sense". I've heard that this entity has passed away! (LOL!)
