I know that this raises the question: "What's this got to do about AM 
radio?" I like probably everyone else, has scoffed at these people. But 
think about what they are doing here for a minute. 6 and I've seen as many 
as 8 3-500Z's stuffed into SB-220 box, (exceptions set aside for the power 
supply). They are running all these tubes cascaded in linear fashion at 
27Mhz! Can you imagine the interelectrode capacitance/neutralization that 
has to be overcome to get power out. Now some of these I saw were definately 
mad-up in a 'garage' for lack of better words. But most of them were 
meticulously thought out and engineered to hold up to the rigors of 
'smack-down' operations.
Just my opinion.
