Last evening there was a group that started up on 3880 about 7:10 P.M. while waiting for the Collins Collector Net to start, this is a net on the first wed of every mo. The group was talking about holding the freq. for the net and commented about others getting ready and tuning xmitters etc. no evidence of any anamosity at all. Then when a net control station transmitted his call several times to break in and start the net , one of the group started a long monolog as to why should they relinguish the freq, that the CCA should move elsewhere, that they cause QRM to QSOs on 3875, the net started early as they admitted starting about five minutes early, etc, etc. It sounded like the bunch on 3892 but this is from an AM station. Now, after several calls by the net control station I did call him and probably cause some QRM to group on freq. From my memory only one person had any issue with the net. I am sure many others heard this conversation and wondered what was going on. you might comment if I have stated anything incorrectly.
What follows is what I just found out, this is an email from that person complaining, I hopefully have deleted all identification in the message. If you want to know anymore contact me. I ask this question? how many believe that we have a problem the ranks? AM folks acting like this? Bernie W8RPW
hello friend- just who the fuck do you think you are? are you all so "special", you and your CCA dicksuckers , that you can crash my QSO on 3880 to start your net? you DO NOT OWN 3880! by the way- due to your actions tonight you may want to let the folks in your group know that there WILL BE NO 1st Wedendsay night CCA net on 3.880 next month. as of tonight the CCA is EVICTED from the AM Window on 75 meters. I would like to suggest 3.837, 3.840, 3.865, and 3.972 as alternate frequencies. have a nice trip, and I hope your precious PTO dials are not welded to 3880 'cause it's time to move.
