This is not about the Apache but a G-50. When I turn it on and turn up the volumne a loud squeal and vibration comes out of the speaker even though it tunes up OK. Any ideas?

He was measuring between the microphone input and the modulator tube grids, which includes the interstage audio transformer. That would certainly indicate that the transformer has sufficient low frequency response. I would recommend trying just the capacitor replacement first and seeing how that sounds before I did anything else.
