Not kidding at all, Bob,. It's at most an hour or two of work, none of
the original parts need to be removed (except for the modulator tubes!),
and very little of the original Apache circuit is disturbed - it's just
not used. The mod can be undone at any future time with about the same
time investment for the purposes of putting the rig back to original
condition.

The addition of inverse feedback is easy and effective, but that alone
won't provide the level of audio quality that my suggestion, with the
use of a decent-quality external audio amp, will provide. And I've
performed THAT methodology, and I can also attest it works extremely
well ;-)

Of course. It's right in the manual.

Yep.

You don't have to "build" and external modulation system. I used a
tube-type PA amplifier I pulled out of a dumpster. I see equivalent amps
at hamfests for giveaway prices all the time. But a small solid-state
PA or one channel of a stereo amp will do the trick too.

That's what I'm trying to do, Bob! It's not that hard! Read my original
post again. I think you're assuming it's more difficult or "invasive"
than it is. Again, I'm not saying my way is the only way, but I will
defend it against unfair criticism. In contrast you seem to be saying
your way is the only one worth considering. I'm not trying to pick a
fight with you or anyone else, Bob; I'm just offering a suggestion based
on personal experience.

You can say THAT again! ;-)

Yes.

Yes.
