Yep:  It seems to me that they are bragging, that there distortion is better
than another at least at the point of overdrive which I guess they all
insist on doing.  And that they were too cheep to properly provide proper
rolloff and feedback.

Looks like pure audiophool rubbish to me.

The "Edison effect" was when Edison was trying to perfect his light bulb, he

noticed a black residue that would form on the glass of the bulb.  He 
experimented with placing a small metal plate inside the bulb envelope to 
eliminate the problem.  In the process, he accidentally discovered that 
current would flow when a positive voltage was applied to the plate.  That 
was the "Edison effect" - he discovered thermonic emission, the basis of the

vacuum tube.  He stumbled onto the vacuum tube  rectifier.

DeForest put the grid between the plate and filament, to make the first 
triode tube.  He called it an "audion".  He was able to get a patent on the 
idea, but like Edison, it was a discrovery he accidentally stumbled on.  He 
was able to get his patent even though he had no idea how the vacuum tube 
amplifier worked.

I remember learning about the Edison effect in my 5th grade science class.

I did not explore the website enough to learn what 5-figure price they are 
asking for that amplifier.
