Thanks for posting the info.  I have tried the stuff AES sells now, and I 
think it sucks.  Very fine tight wrinkle finish, very flat, with no gloss.  
Makes the panel look like it is made out of graphite. It is about the same 
as the stuff you buy at automotive or motocycle shops for painting manifolds 
and headers.  The Illbronze that I used to paint my transmitter some 30 
years ago had a coarser texture and high gloss, more like the finish on 
older equipment.

Of course, there is no guarantee that Illbronze still uses the same formula 
they had 30 years ago, but it would be worth ordering a can and trying it 
out.
