Hi Brett,

I don't think we've worked before, but I've heard you on 40m plenty of
times. I just wanted to drop you a line to say hello. I don't think I
have an S meter for you, but I do have a box of various panel meters. I
can take a look and see what's there. I know I have a few R-390 size
meters, but with different scales and probably with different movements.
I'll send you one if you want it.

I'm inactive at the moment -- just moved to Cherry Hill from Philly back in
June and although I have a few receivers and a 2m rig to play with, I
haven't figured out an antenna that I can put up in an apartment. I do
have an attached garage and was thinking of one of those MFJ loops. I
don't have much time to play with radio anyway (I'm going to school in the
evenings at Rutgers).

We'll be looking for a house in a year or two. I see from QRZ that you're
in Voorhees. Is that a ham friendly area? I'd like to be able to put up a
modest tower and run some wire antennas for the lower bands. My future XYL
is OK with all of this; we just need to find a place without antenna
restrictions.

Good luck at Pack Rats. I can't remember the last time I missed that
hamfest, but this year will be one of those times. I hope the weather will
be OK -- the old joke used to be: "When's Pack Rats?" "The first rainy
weekend in October!"

73,

Ed N3CMI
