Believe it or not I've got a copy of the GE Ham News article right here, and 
will put it on EBAY right away......only kidding, its May-June 1951 (V.6 No.3 
for you librarians).

It details 4 tests - continuity/short/static/14 mhz power oscillation/limited 
peak emission.

I don't think it will scan or copy well, (I made the copy 25 years ago) but 
I'm willing to make a copy (or try scanning) what I've got if you want to try 
it.
