[AMRadio] Military Multimeter - OT

I once had an old Weston multimeter that probably predated WWII. It used a
standard 4.5 volt "C" battery, which was getting hard to find. I did locate
one once, but when it needed replacement, I noticed it was about the same
size as three stardard AA cells. I taped three of these together and
carefully soldered them in series, and they fit right in the same spot. I
just soldered onto the wire terminals and wrapped with electrical tape.
This worked just as well as the hard-to-find 4.5 volt replacement battery.

It can be tricky to get solder to stick to the AA cells without overheating
them (I haven't tried this in years; not 100% sure if today's cell terminals
would take solder). Perhaps you could find a commercially made battery
holder for the number of required cells, that would fit the space.
