Hi Jeff,

When you discover the best way to move all that stuff, especially the
receivers, without getting them trashed, please let me know. I am
contimplating an interstate move in the near future and while I don't have
that nice BIG iron, I have about 150 receivers, xmtrs, speakers and other
miscellany that I don't want to get messed up.

When I moved to my present house, I had one new tabletop Bud rack with a
small receiver mounted in it. I cautioned the movers about not messing up
the rack at least 3 times and was assured they would take good care of it.
You guessed it..........! This was a top of the line mover, too.

My current idea is to rent one of those extended passnger vans for the soft
ride, and take the seats out. Put one layer of heavy receivers, etc on the
bottom, then a layer or two of foam board, then the lighter receivers on top.
Some cardboard of foam again then real light stuff like lamp shades,
pillows, etc which the movers normally box up and charge a small fortune for
the boxes. Obviously there would have to be a number of trips made,
requiring a lot of time and gas, but the agony of having to find parts for or
another complete unit to replace a damaged one (s), to me at least, it much
greater than the energy rewuired to do it myself, carefully.

Good luck with your move.

73,

John, W4AWM
