George,
I've thought of trying out the xmit vertical as the "noise" antenna, with
the Beverage as the receiving antenna. The big vectical has the highest
noise to signal ratio of any antenna here, and the Beverage has the best
signal to noise ratio (but it doesn't completely eliminate it)so if I can
get the two to null out the noise, there should be plenty of signal left
over. Plus, both antennas ought to be more stable than a short piece of wire
inside the shack or the active antenna on the unit.
Several people have told me they have had good results with the JPS ANC-4
(now made by Timewave). Have you had any experience with these?
I tried the rotatable loop outdoors, and I was able to get a definite null
on the noise.
73, Don
