Subject almost says it all:
I have a Viking Valiant that is complete so far as I know about Valiants and that is not saying much. I also have a small box of spare parts sent to me from another member who was dismantling a Valiant and had odds and ends left over. I may have a partial manual copy. The unit needs to be taken down and then brought back up. For my needs, the panel is fine and I probably would live with the cabinet (maybe overspray) as it is. If a person were careful and took his time, the knobs are fine. The meter works, dial works but everything needs TLC and that old Roosevelt fireside attention. I.e., this is not a weekend chore but a semester project.
If the person I trade with will pay the shipping on the above Valiant, I am looking for one of two items which you folks may have:
Possible Trade 1:
Male & Female P3 connectors from the 30's, early 40's. These are the grandfather connectors for the modern XLR. If a young ham were to hold one of these three pin audio connectors in his hands, he just might think they were for welding :=). I need three or four of the male cable connectors complete with rear hoods and four of the female bulkhead (panel jack) connectors. The cable ends are about 1 1/4" in diameter if not a little bigger. Pins are at least 1/8", maybe even 5/32".
Possible Item 2:
I'd like to find a presentable ribbon microphone which favors the bass voice frequency and looks very nice. Something like a long ribbon Grundig or RCA variant. I'm willing to repair it myself and if I can't, I'll send it to Clarence Kane.
Thanks for the bandwidth,
DH
Please note: I do not want to sell
