Charlie,  for  practical purposes,  most  people   are not  going to  hear  
the clipping  set  way  low.  Many of  the  newer  generation of  AMers are  
out  for the lowest  possible distortion,  others say  that
the  driver  transformer is  no good,  it  saturates,  its   just not  true. 
  I did not do all the  research,  but I was told,  that the
clipper  does  add distortion even set low.  So  try  with  your  scope
and see if  you  can  hear or see it.  73s  Russ
