[AMRadio] Apache AM mode alignment steps ??

I've been following the Apache thread with great interest because it is a favorite transmitter of mine. Can anyone list a cheat sheet that I could put in my manual and then use in adjusting the audio properly with my oscilloscope and audio generator ? Is a simple audio sine wave in the voice frequency range sufficient? Would you sample high or low ? I once built (and may build again) a little 5 or 6 tube speech compressor out of a 60's QST and remember that it worked extraordinarily well with the SB10 and later with my Marauder. I don't remember using it on AM much because the move at the time was to suppressed carrier operation. Now that I use the Apache once again and really enjoying the AM envelope, am I correct in assuming that adjusted to a sort of alignment procedure on the bench, any problems I might have would be relative to the speech passband or my mic alone?
Thanks in advance for any comments.
