[Alinco] Alinco data radio

Hello All on List:

I have had this radio seems like forever - an Alinco DR-610TQ
dual-band transceiver.

All of a sudden, the left side (VFO) stopped receiving {which is
typically VHF side}.  If I turn down the squelch, I don't even get the
"busy light" anymore & no audio noise out of the top speaker (squelch
hiss).  The right side of the radio works perfectly & the and audio
out shares the same 1 speaker in the top cover (as the left side).
Has to be internal issue.

Is it worth it to have it fixed?  I found, an example of Yaesu
dual-bands on e-bay starting at $250 factory brand new.  I think I
paid $500-600 for this new back in 1994 - 1997.


Lastly, I have the brother/sister radio as my portable - Alinco
DJ-G5TH and need a new battery (current one doesn't hold charge that
long).  The battery is Alinco EBP-36N DC9.6v 650mAH Ni-Cd.  And yes
this is the original battery when I bought it new w/ above mobile. lol

I'm not even sure if Alinco products are as popular now as back then?
