Well, I hate to say it, but it sounds like the CPU is lost. Either the
programming is shot, or the radio was subjected to some negative
G-forces that either cracked a board or lifted a surface-mount solder
joint. Neither prospect sounds good. Not sure how to advise you.
I did do a repair on a DR-570 mobile rig, it would not store any
memories at all, turns out that it had a bad circuit land between
the MR switch and the specific lead on the CPU... took a few tries
to solder in a #32 wire jumper but was eventually successful. :-)
(But that was with a good SMS soldering station at my work QTH,
definitely not at home!)
