[Alinco] new to list and need help with an Alinco DJ 580

I'm new to the list and by looking at the old messages on the list..looks lie 
an interesting hangout.

I've got an Alinco DJ 580 that has recently gonne berzerk,nutso,a mind of its 
own. It beeps,scans,changes frequencies on its own...it will occassionally 
transmit when you press the PTT.It will only display one band at a time...not 
both,the key pad appears to be "locked"and there is no opening of the 
squelch. The radio is only somewhat functional after turning it on and off 
several times.
I've even tryed resetting the radio by pressing the "function" key and 
holding it down while turning the radio on.....no change at all.
Has anyone run into this problem before and what is the fix other than 
replacing those affected circuit boards? I'll even go as far as swaping a 
known good micropressor and IF board with the one on my radio.
Its a hamfest bought radio...and I'm almost certain that the repair will be 
more than the $100 that I have in the radio. Its a great rig...hate that I 
cant use the thing now.
