[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Reminder: Support request from KC3QQD, Erik Johnson

Erik, KC3QQD, joined our net last Thursday night and informed us of an event they are conducting on 2M Simplex over in Prince Frederick.  He has asked us to listen and respond to his 50 watt transmissions off of a water tower in Prince Frederick.  I have included the details from his QRZ page on time and frequency of the event. On Tuesday, July 7th 2026, we will be having a special edition of TalkAround Tuesday! From time to we have the opportunity (in cooperation with the local EMA and ARES) to use the radios from the EOC that have antennas mounted high on the county tower. We call this a Tall Tower Test. That evening, we will begin early at 7:30 PM and we will be on 146.580 FM simplex, until about 8:30. The purpose is to see how far away we can be heard on 50 watts. In the past, we have made contacts as far west as the mountains, as far north as Atlantic City, and as far south as Norfolk, VA. Stations in the southern Maryland area are invited to try and make contact on low power or on a HT. I should be on NetLogger so send me an IM and we will see if we can hear each other!
