[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] ICS Courses offered by Alexandria City for 2025

Great question,

I can't speak to how Alex runs theirs but every course I've been to required ALL prerequisite certificates. IE, Even though in order to take ICS 300, you need 100/200/700/800, I still needed to furnish my 100/200/700/800 certs when I took ICS-400 as well as my 300 cert since they were all listed as pre-reqs.

I would strongly recommend you use GPG or Veracrypt to encrypt all your certifications and paperwork for these types of things and store a copy on a USB hard drive (or thumbdrive) and a copy on something like Proton Drive or another encrypted data storage service. 

For those who may be unfamiliar with any of this, ICS courses are a requirement to function as ARES team member, they ensure you the basic knowledge to function on a NIMS or ICS structured event (which is any event where the EM or EOC is involved). ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, and 800 fullfill most of what you'll need, all are available as self paced online courses with unproctored exams. You can go to this site and search them
