I looked at the latest propagation forecast. It looks like sunspot
numbers dropped a bit from last week, so band conditions may not be
great this weekend.
However, still give it a try. You never know how it will work out.
I forgot to mention in the Sweepstakes report, you need to insert your
call in between the precedence and check.

This weekend is the ARRL SSB Sweepstakes. The contest starts on
Saturday at 2100 UTC (1600 local) and runs through 0300 UTC Monday
(2200 local Sunday)..
The exchange is a serial number, precedence (A, B, Q, or S) A means
you are running less than 150 watts, B means more than 150 watts, Q is
QRP and S is for school clubs.
Next is the check (year you were first licensed, mine is 79. After
that, your ARRL section. Most of us would send VA, but a few will
send MDC.
Unlike many other contests, once you work a station, you can't work
them again. By Sunday afternoon, the big guns will work everybody.
After the contest, be sure to submit your score. The N3FJP software
has a built-in submission program that will take you right to the ARRL
contest submission page. I don't know if some of the others such as
N1MM do or not. Don't forget to add Alexandria Radio Club in the
contest club block when you submit your score. We are listed in the
contest clubs list.
Hope to work you this weekend.
